Carl is a member of the Bar of England and Wales and a former Solicitor. He is a member of Chambers and currently serves as Chambers Director on the Management Committee.
Carl has served previously as a senior partner at the TMC Advisory Group and a Partner at one of the largest Criminal Defence and Prison Law solicitors firms in the UK, providing advice and representation to clients held in both the UK and foreign jurisdictions. He is experienced in bringing matter before the High Courts, Appellate courts, and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
He has particular expertise in working with international monitoring bodies such as Fair Trials Abroad and Fair Trials International, lecturing on all issues involving Penal Policy and Human Rights.
Carl is ideally placed to provide assistance to individuals, organisations, corporations and Foreign States concerning individuals detained in custody as well as more general assistance on all issues of penal policy and applicable human rights mechanisms.
