The Working Group on Arbitrary Detention reached the conclusion that the deprivation of liberty of Messrs. Islam, Azam and Ali was arbitrary and constituted a breach of article 9 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and article 9 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, falling into category III of the categories applicable to the cases submitted to the Working Group.
